Yarisha Singh

My extensive dance journey began at the age of four, when I danced my first ballet solo. I went on to perform semi-professionally at twelve and then professionally from seventeen years of age. I qualified from the University of Cape Town’s School of Dance with a Bachelor of Music in Dance with Distinction in Choreography. I am also a qualified ballet teacher in the Cecchetti method as well as a yoga therapist.
After graduating, I went on to perform, choreograph, and teach for South Africa’s top dance companies and institutions for almost twenty years, working with professional dancers and students from all walks of life. My greatest strength is my versatility as I am efficient in numerous dance genres. Still, my heartfelt passion lies with Contemporary and Flamenco dance, which I performed mainly for the award-winning companies of Free Flight Dance Company and La Rosa Spanish Dance Theatre. I have conducted dance workshops and adjudicated competitions across my home country and have coached and created works on dance students for local and international dance competitions. I have also gained experience in television and in corporate dance platforms, where I worked under numerous acclaimed directors and choreographers. I have produced and directed professional productions in South Africa and now continue my path as the Head of the Dance Unit at the acclaimed Studio Republik in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
I don’t know a life without dance and creativity. It is a gift that I was born to share, and I am thrilled to be able to devote my love and knowledge of dance to all dance enthusiasts.
